Digital Archive
Chi Po-lin spent a quarter of a century and a total of more than 2,500 flight hours to document the land of Taiwan and its environmental changes. This body of extremely precious image assets, comprising more than 100,000 photographic films and more than 500,000 digital images, is not only irreplaceable but also non-repeatable. In order to preserve this treasure forever and maximize its value, the Foundation has brought together professional manpower and equipment to convert these image works into permanent assets to extend their application in the fields of environmental education, environmental advocacy, academic research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Environmental Education
Environmental education is the foundation of a nation’s sustainable development. It is also an important mission of the Foundation. With Director Chi’s everlasting images as our cornerstone and the Chi Po-lin Museum as a base, the Foundation is dedicated to craft a diversified program featuring holistic environmental education. We invite both children and adults to visit the museum to see and learn about Taiwan. Meanwhile, we bring Chi’s image works and teaching materials into schools to work as environmental education partners with teachers. By infusing Director Chi’s height and vision into the education for the next generation, we hope to plant the seed of environmental protection and foster countless young heroes for our environment.

In Search of the Next Chi Po-lin
The image documentation of Taiwan’s environment should not be carried out by Chi Po-lin alone, and will not stop with Chi’s departure. Since the establishment of the Foundation, we are determined to nurture more environmental photographers and filmmakers. In the name of Chi Po-lin, we encourage and foster young talent to devote themselves to the vocation of producing environmental documentaries. By doing so, we hope to find the next Chi Po-lin for Taiwan and the world.

Continue to See Taiwan from Above
In 2013, "Beyond Beauty - TAIWAN FROM ABOVE" took the breath of Taiwanese audience away, and awakened innumerous initiatives to heal the wounds of the earth and protect our homeland. Although it would be difficult to see another Chi Po-lin in a short time, the task of “Seeing Taiwan and Safeguarding our Homeland” cannot and will not stop! The Foundation has not only used the precious materials left by Chi to consistently produce image works, but has also been raising funds and calling for more documentary filmmakers to continue this mission. With more documentary works similar to Beyond Beauty – TAIWAN FROM ABOVE, the documentation of the beauty of Taiwan will go on forever.
